The miles of wide, soft-sand beaches, dunes with sea oats, and the lack of commercialization make Ocean Sands a favorite among many Outer Banks vacationers. Ocean Sands contains sections A-Q with wide, open spaces between many of the lettered sections of the subdivision allowing even the more distant Corolla beach house rentals to enjoy an ocean view. Community water is now available for homes in sections A, B, and C but some remain on private wells while all other sections are on municipal water and sewer. Ocean Sands amenities also include a seven acre stocked fresh water fishing lake abundant with water fowl, tennis courts in sections D, F, and H, quiet roads for walking or bike riding, and the community is nearby shopping, restaurants, golf, and water sports.
